This weekend we had my dad and stepmom in town. It was great to have them. I have decided that each of our moms are great for something and we love when they come in town. My mom is the laundry fairy and also decorates our hideous dining room table with the $20 that we give her (Martha Stewart on a budget) for all holidays, Vicki is an interior decorator so she talks us into buying expensive furniture and rearranges stuff in our house, and Frances - when she comes to visit, we are fed the most wonderful food - Andrew's favorite - Taco's!! Anyway, its great that they all can do something for us while they are here. This weekend, Vicki helped us pick out a rug for our living room. It makes such a difference! We are still missing the chair that goes in the left corner - it went in our bedroom for Christmas so we would have somewhere for the tree and Andrew won't let me put it back. We ordered a new one this weekend for our bedroom so the living room one can go back in its place. The sad thing is, we don't leave our bedroom now - DVR and a comfy chair - what more could you need?
Owen had an absolute blast with Sam - Sam was not to thrilled with him and started shaking like a leaf every time he saw Owen. As you can see in this picture, Owen was trying to EAT Sam. We definitely will have to get a dog at some point - Owen just loves them - not now of course, I am not crazy, but at some point.
This was just funny - naked baby with only shoes on. Oh speaking of shoes, we went to Stride Rite this weekend to buy Owen his first real pair of shoes and didn't end up getting any because they were FIFTY dollars - anyone know how to get good shoes for babies cheaper? I don't even like to spend that much on my shoes....welll....maybe :)

That is Jacob's favorite outfit! Nudy Booty time!
Unfortunately you are right...stride rites are definitely the best (especially when learning to walk) but they are SO expensive. I bought Jacob 3 pairs (3 different sizes..at 30% off) and it was still over $100. I have occasionally seen some okay shoes at Target and BRUS...but they don't fit as well. We have also done pedipeds and UMIs (which I found at diapers.com for an "okay" price). If you find anything else...PLEASE let me know!!! They outgrow them so fast, and the cost is simply ridiculous considering how little material it requires!
Go to the stride rite outlet at Concord Mills. They are cheaper there!
Emily HATES shoes. She screams when you put them on her until you take them off. This could be a problem...
Try Journey's Kids. They have shoes for infants/toddlers and they are awesome. We bought Brayden a pair of Pumas recently and she loves them. They also have DC shoes, Vans, etc. He'll be styling and they are cheaper than Stride Rite. We shopped at Stride Rite for many pairs of shoes, but are done shopping there now b/c they are so pricy! Get some when you are in town this coming weekend!
